Whether you’re coping with substances, porn, or other addictive patterns - we’ll work directly with what’s happening in a confidential, non-judgemental space.

These behaviors often serve as coping mechanisms for deeper anxiety, pain, or unmet needs. Together, we will start to understand how these patterns developed and identify more beneficial ways to meet those needs, helping you build resilience and navigate life’s challenges.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Addiction and compulsive behaviors are often responses to past trauma or difficult life experiences. Instead of an abstinence-only (sobriety) model, I embrace both harm reduction principles and sobriety goals, if you want them. This means we can focus on reducing the negative impacts of these behaviors in a way that feels safe and manageable for you, without any judgement.

Our work will be guided by your personal goals, whether that involves reducing use, finding healthier coping mechanisms, or moving toward recovery at a pace that aligns with your comfort and readiness.

This approach pairs naturally with EMDR, which can directly access core wounds and protective parts. These parts have wisdom to share that can actually help us move towards healing.

“The question is not why the addiction, but why the pain.
